Two additional individuals have been taken into custody on suspicion of murder following the tragic shooting of a 14-year-old boy in southeast London.
Eghosa Ogbebor was pronounced dead at the scene after the incident occurred on Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich at approximately 15:40 BST on Thursday.
According to the Metropolitan Police, a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were arrested on Saturday. Additionally, a 46-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Earlier, three individuals—two boys aged 14 and 16, along with an 18-year-old man—were arrested on Friday on murder charges but have since been released on bail. This incident has drawn attention, especially in light of the recent Viral ‘School Wars’ trend that has been spreading across the UK.
Detective Chief Inspector Lucie Card, who is overseeing the investigation, stated,
„Our team of dedicated detectives are continuing inquiries to investigate Eghosa’s tragic death.“
She added,
„Residents in Woolwich may have noticed a large amount of police activity last night, as officers arrested three further people in connection with the investigation. We appreciate the concern that Eghosa’s death has caused, particularly among the local community who will continue to see an increased police presence around the area.“
Card urged anyone with information or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the vicinity to reach out to the police.
As the investigation unfolds, the community remains on high alert, with law enforcement maintaining a visible presence in Woolwich.
