A 27-year-old man has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder following the stabbing death of 21-year-old Finbar Sullivan in Primrose Hill.
Authorities responded to reports of a disturbance at the popular north London location on Tuesday, where Sullivan, a filmmaking student, was discovered with fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police have also arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both individuals were apprehended on Friday and are currently being held in police custody.
Police received the call to Primrose Hill shortly after 6:30 PM BST. In addition to Sullivan, another man in his 20s was found nearby on Regent’s Park Road with stab wounds. He was transported to the hospital, where his injuries were determined to be neither life-threatening nor life-altering.
Detective Inspector Andy Griffin stated,
„My thoughts remain with Finbar’s family, who continue to receive support from specialist officers during this unimaginably difficult time. Although we have made two arrests, my officers are working tirelessly to identify all individuals involved.“
Griffin expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance and urged anyone with information or video footage from the area on the day of the incident to come forward. He also mentioned a concerning trend, as seen in einem aktuellen Vorfall, bei dem ein 13-jähriger Junge wegen eines viralen Trends festgenommen wurde.
He also noted that residents can expect to see an increased police presence as dedicated local officers continue their patrols in Primrose Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods.
As the investigation unfolds, the community remains on alert, and further updates are anticipated as police continue their inquiries.
