Temperatures in London are anticipated to soar to 24C later this week, surpassing those in Barcelona, as reported by the Met Office.
The stormy weather brought by Storm Dave is expected to give way to sunny skies and warmer conditions, with London reaching 24C and Manchester hitting 20C on Wednesday.
A high of 24C would exceed the current record for the hottest day of the year, which was 20.9C recorded in Gogerddan near Aberystwyth on March 18.
This forecast indicates that many regions in the UK will experience warmer temperatures than Barcelona, which is projected to reach only 19C on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Weather Outlook for the Week
Tuesday is also expected to be sunny across the UK, with temperatures climbing to 20C in London and 19C in Glasgow.
However, this warm spell will be short-lived, as the Met Office predicts a drop in temperatures to around 14C in London on Thursday, with most of the UK likely seeing temperatures fall below 10C.
This shift follows the disruptive conditions caused by Storm Dave over the Easter weekend, which brought snow and strong winds, leading to travel disruptions and power outages in northern regions of the UK.
Wind gusts reached up to 93mph at Capel Curig in North Wales, while 75mph winds were recorded at Emley Moor in West Yorkshire and St Bees Head in Cumbria. Additionally, a gust of 73mph was noted at Buchan in Aberdeenshire, according to the Met Office.
Some areas in Scotland experienced power outages due to the severe winds overnight. Teams from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) were deployed to restore power to the affected customers, primarily in Skye, Caithness, and coastal regions of Aberdeenshire.
