Officers investigating a situation involving an individual accused of showing support for the October 7th attacks and Hamas during a demonstration in Swiss Cottage have successfully secured charges against him.
Mohamed Hassn, also known as Mohamed Al-Mail, aged 27 (24.12.97) from Unwin Way, Stanmore, has been charged with intentionally causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm, or distress, which is in violation of Section 4A of the Public Order Act 1998 and Section 31 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
Details of the Investigation
An investigation was initiated after video footage of the incident, occurring on 20 September 2024, was circulated online. Hassn was taken into custody the following day and subsequently released on bail.
Earlier this year in January, a compilation of evidence was forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), which initially decided not to pursue the case on two separate occasions.
Continued Efforts by Officers
Authorities persisted in their communication with the CPS to explore all possible options to contest the decision not to file charges, ultimately achieving a successful prosecution as described above.
Hassn is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19 January 2026.
