The snow is predicted to originate from a south-westerly direction, moving across the South and Midlands before proceeding to northern France. These predictions align with the BBC’s long-range forecast, which hints at a low-pressure system impacting the southern half of the UK, leading to snowfall in its northern regions and rain to the south.

On January 5, London remained one of the few areas in the UK without an issued weather warning. The Met Office has released a series of yellow and amber warnings for snow and ice throughout Britain.
