A water leak at the BBC’s regional television studio in Norfolk has resulted in the temporary suspension of BBC Look East broadcasts.

Until further notice, morning regional television services will be transmitted from the BBC London studio. Meanwhile, BBC Radio Norfolk’s listeners initially received programming from BBC Radio Suffolk.

The leak specifically impacted the section of The Forum building that accommodates the BBC operations.

Wayne Bavin, a presenter from Suffolk, addressed listeners, stating, „If you’re listening in Norfolk this isn’t an April Fool – they’ve had a little bit of a problem at the Forum where BBC Radio Norfolk is based. They’ve had a flood.“

At 08:00 BST, BBC Radio Norfolk began broadcasting from its sister station located in Ipswich.

Normal broadcasting resumed from The Forum at 10:00.

A spokesperson for the BBC commented, „There was a water leak in a small area of the office; radio programming has now resumed, with Look East regional television news expected to return later today.“

BBC Look East serves a wide area, including Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, and Suffolk.
