Teenager Faces Murder Charge in Death of 14-Year-Old Eghosa Ogbebor in Woolwich

A teenage boy has been charged with the murder of 14-year-old Eghosa Ogbebor, who was fatally shot in southeast London.

Emergency services were dispatched to Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich on April 2, where they discovered Eghosa suffering from severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police reported that a 16-year-old boy from Romford, initially arrested on April 4, was re-arrested on Thursday and subsequently charged with murder.

The accused is scheduled to appear at Thames Magistrates‘ Court on Saturday.

Forensic teams were observed investigating the vicinity of the crime scene following the incident.

The shooting occurred on a residential street near Woolwich Dockyard station around 3:40 PM BST.

Multiple arrests have been made in connection with the case. This includes a 19-year-old who was detained on April 4 on suspicion of murder, as well as a 46-year-old man suspected of assisting an offender. Both individuals have since been released on bail.

On April 3, three additional suspects were arrested: two boys aged 14 and 16, along with an 18-year-old man. They were also released on bail.

On April 10, another 16-year-old boy was taken into custody on suspicion of murder and remains detained, according to the Metropolitan Police. This reckless trend has been making headlines.

The family of Eghosa is receiving support from specialized officers, the police stated.
