A tragic incident on the M25 resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman, as confirmed by police authorities.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded to the scene at 19:52 BST on Friday following reports of a multi-vehicle collision involving three cars and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV). The accident occurred between junction 29 at Upminster and junction 30 at Aveley in Thurrock.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated that the woman, who hailed from east London, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family is currently receiving support from specialized officers.
The police have issued a call for witnesses to come forward, noting that no arrests have been made in relation to the incident. A portion of the M25 was closed to traffic until approximately 05:00 on Saturday as investigations were conducted.
