Three individuals have been charged in connection with an attempted arson incident targeting the offices of a Persian language media organization located in north-west London.
On Wednesday at approximately 20:30 BST, an ignited container was thrown towards the Volant Media building in Park Royal. Fortunately, the container landed in a car park, where the fire was quickly extinguished.
The Metropolitan Police reported that Oisin McGuinness, 21, and Nathan Dunn, 19, both residents of Watford, along with a 16-year-old male from north London, have been charged with arson with intent to endanger life.
All three suspects, who are British nationals, are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates‘ Court. Additionally, McGuinness faces charges of dangerous driving, according to police statements.
There were no injuries or property damage reported as a result of the attempted arson. As a precautionary measure, two nearby buildings were evacuated but were reopened shortly after police confirmed that there was no ongoing threat to public safety.
Following the incident, officers pursued a black SUV, which ultimately crashed on Ballards Lane in Finchley.
This attempted arson at Volant Media comes on the heels of a separate event where a man and a woman were arrested after two bottles, believed to contain petrol, were thrown at Finchley Reform Synagogue in the early hours of Wednesday.
Earlier this month, three individuals were charged after four ambulances owned by Jewish charities were set ablaze in north London, with an additional five arrests made in connection with that incident.
