How police apprehended a suspect in the murder of a teenager

Officers investigating the murder of 15-year-old Adam Henry have made five arrests at an address in north west London.

Detectives located and apprehended 22-year-old Abdel Dedour on Friday, 26 December on suspicion of murder, following a two-week manhunt and public appeal for information.

Additionally, four other individuals at the location, which included three men and a woman aged between 18 and 47, were detained for assisting an offender.

Notably, the 47-year-old woman was also arrested for assaulting a police officer, while one of the men, aged 39, faced further charges related to domestic violence and driving offenses. All five suspects remain in police custody.

Incident Details

The arrests occurred after Adam Henry was fatally stabbed on Westbourne Road in Islington at approximately 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9. Emergency services, including paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene and transported Adam to the hospital, where he subsequently passed away.

His family continues to receive support from specialized officers during this challenging period.

Statements from Authorities

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is overseeing the investigation, remarked:

“Our thoughts remain with Adam’s loved ones throughout this unimaginably difficult time. There is no place for senseless acts of violence on our streets – and those responsible for such crimes should be brought to justice. My dedicated team have worked tirelessly over the last few weeks. Dedour tried many ways to evade capture, but thanks to the efforts of officers, we are now one step closer to securing justice.”

Authorities encourage anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the police at 101, quoting reference number 3568/09DEC. Alternatively, individuals can reach out to Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
