Detective Chief Inspector Card emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating,
„There may be individuals who have information or have witnessed suspicious activities in the area but have not yet reached out to the police. We encourage these individuals to come forward and assist with the investigation.“
He added,
„We will continue to support and keep Eghosa’s family updated as the investigation progresses, and our thoughts are with them during this incredibly challenging time.“
In the wake of the tragic incident, London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan expressed his condolences, saying,
„My thoughts are with the family, friends, and the broader community in Woolwich following the appalling fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy. There is absolutely no place for this heart-breaking violence.“

This incident marks the second fatal shooting in London within a week. Previously, Nahom Medhanie, 26, was shot and killed while seated in a vehicle near Euston station in central London around 11 PM the preceding Saturday.
