Transport for London (TfL) has announced the permanent continuation of the 310 bus route, which connects Jewish communities in North and East London, following a successful trial period. This route, linking Golders Green and Stamford Hill, was initially launched in September 2024 to address safety concerns at Finsbury Park Interchange.
Residents along the 310 route have expressed their approval of the service, as it eliminates the need for a bus transfer at Finsbury Park when traveling between the two neighborhoods. In an effort to enhance efficiency, TfL is considering a re-routing of the 310 to travel via Holloway instead of Crouch Hill.
Public Consultation and Service Extensions
Additionally, TfL has initiated a public consultation aimed at slightly extending the route to Rookwood Road in Stamford Hill and extending operating hours to include later services throughout the week. As a result of these adjustments, residents traveling between Archway and Finsbury Park will lose direct service access. However, those living on Holloway Road, Seven Sisters Road, Tollington Road, and Isledon Road will gain direct bus connections to both Golders Green and Stamford Hill.
The current operating hours for the 310 are from 7am to 7pm, which has raised concerns regarding the safety of Jewish passengers who may face anti-Semitic incidents while transferring buses at Finsbury Park during the evening. A consultation conducted in late 2025 indicated that extending the service beyond 7pm would be advantageous.
Community Impact and Feedback
The consultation report, which confirmed TfL’s decision to maintain the 310 route, highlighted its positive impact during its inaugural year. The Board of Deputies of British Jews described the route as a „vital link“ that enhances safety and convenience, particularly for families with young children and those apprehensive about potential antisemitic incidents while changing buses at Finsbury Park.
Students from Beis Rochel Satmar School in Stamford Hill noted that the 310 has become an essential part of their daily commute. Furthermore, The Interlink Foundation reported that the cultural sensitivity training provided to drivers has been greatly appreciated and has played a significant role in the success of the 310 service.
