London experienced significant disruptions to its morning commute on Thursday due to trespassers on the railway. The National Rail reported that all lines between London St Pancras International and Kentish Town were affected, causing delays for passengers during peak travel hours.
The disruption persisted until approximately 11 a.m., when services returned to normal between the two stations.

As of 9 a.m., the disruption between St Pancras and Kentish Town was officially cleared, allowing Thameslink services to resume normal operations.
Northern Line Service Interruption
At the same time, the Northern line was experiencing issues, with no service available between Golders Green and Edgware in the northbound direction due to a fire alert at Colindale. However, the remainder of the line was operating normally.
Animal-Related Delays
In another incident, animals on the railway at Wraysbury caused a blockage on the line towards Windsor & Eton Riverside. This situation led to delays for trains traveling between Staines and Windsor & Eton Riverside, with disruptions expected to last until around 11 a.m. Several South Western Railway services between London Waterloo and Windsor & Eton Riverside were impacted.
Traffic Delays on A40
Traffic congestion was also reported on the A40, with delays in both directions between the A40 Northern Roundabout and the Marylebone Flyover. This was attributed to the full closure of the A40 Westway and an eastbound lane closure on Harrow Road for joint replacement works. Drivers were advised to seek alternative routes due to slow traffic approaching the closures.

On the Tube network, both the Bakerloo and Central lines reported a return to good service following earlier disruptions.
Service Reduction Between Bletchley and Bedford
A reduced service was noted between Bletchley and Bedford due to a fault on a train. Disruptions were anticipated until 12 p.m., with rail replacement vehicles operating between the stations in both directions, affecting several London Northwestern Railway services.
Surbiton Station Update
Disruptions caused by a communication alarm being activated on a train at Surbiton have now been resolved, allowing trains to operate normally through the station once again.
Minor Delays on Tube and Overground
There were minor delays reported on both the Bakerloo and Central lines due to train cancellations, although all other lines on the network were functioning well.
Surbiton Communication Alarm Incident
Earlier, a communication alarm activated on a train at Surbiton blocked all lines towards Woking. This incident was expected to cause disruptions for all trains passing through Surbiton, impacting several South Western Railway services. Staff were working to reset the alarm before trains could depart, and those scheduled to stop at Surbiton platforms 3 or 4 were unable to do so until further notice.
