Commuters in London are experiencing significant disruptions this morning, with notable delays affecting the Elizabeth line and various sections of the Tube network.
On the Elizabeth line, services between Hayes & Harlington and Reading are facing severe delays due to urgent track repairs being conducted at West Drayton. While the remainder of the line is operating normally, passengers traveling through the impacted area are advised to allocate additional time for their journeys.
Delays on Other Lines
In addition to the Elizabeth line, the Metropolitan line is also experiencing severe delays, particularly between Moor Park and Amersham, where train cancellations have been reported. Transport officials indicate that the next southbound service from Amersham is not anticipated until 07:15 AM, resulting in considerable wait times for passengers.
Furthermore, the District line is encountering disruptions, with minor delays occurring between Parsons Green and Wimbledon due to an earlier signal failure at East Putney. Services on the rest of the line are reportedly running as scheduled.
Travelers are encouraged to check their routes before departing and consider alternative options where feasible.
Live Updates on Service Recovery
As of 11 minutes ago, rail services are beginning to recover following an earlier incident involving trespassers between Bedford and Luton. All lines have since reopened, but services on East Midlands Railway routes (including Corby, Nottingham, Sheffield, Lincoln to London St Pancras International) and Thameslink routes (from Bedford to East Grinstead, Three Bridges, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Brighton, as well as Luton to Orpington and Rainham) may still experience delays of up to 20 minutes, along with potential cancellations or alterations as the timetable stabilizes.
Disruptions are expected to persist until approximately 10:30 AM, so passengers should allow extra time for their journeys.
Additional Service Updates
Minor delays have also been reported on the Central line due to train cancellations, while the IFS Cloud Cable Car is currently operating without issues.
Traffic disruptions are noted on the A205, where temporary traffic lights are in place at the junction with B227 Perry Vale due to ongoing Thames Water works. Travelers in the area should anticipate delays.
On the A12, delays of up to five minutes are being reported on Ardleigh Green Road and Squirrels Heath Road as they approach the A127, prompting travelers to allow extra time.
Following the earlier trespass incident between Bedford and Luton, all lines have reopened, but delays of up to 20 minutes, along with cancellations or changes, may still occur as services recover.
Disruptions on the Elizabeth line are expected to last throughout the day, with trains between Reading and London Paddington potentially delayed by up to 10 minutes, canceled, or subject to changes. Passengers are advised to plan for extended travel times.
Additionally, the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) is partially closed, with no service operating between Bank/Tower Gateway and Poplar/West India Quay. Passengers are recommended to utilize the Jubilee line, Elizabeth line, and local London Buses as alternatives.
For those traveling eastbound from Barons Court, there will be no trains stopping until June 7. Passengers are advised to take a westbound District or Piccadilly line service and change at Hammersmith for an eastbound train. Those heading to Barons Court eastbound should continue to West Kensington (District line) or Earl’s Court (Piccadilly line) and switch to a westbound service.
As of now, the IFS Cloud Cable Car continues to provide a reliable service.
