Trains arriving and departing from London Marylebone Station are experiencing significant disruptions on Wednesday morning due to a fault in the signalling system.

As of 8:15 AM, all services operated by Chiltern Railways scheduled to reach the station were either delayed or cancelled. National Rail has indicated that these disruptions are anticipated to persist until 9:30 AM.

In contrast, there are no reported issues affecting the London Underground network.

Current Situation and Recommendations

As of now, major disruptions at London Marylebone are expected to continue until 10:00 AM. Passengers are encouraged to explore alternative travel routes whenever possible. For those planning their journeys, the National Rail Journey Planner can be utilized to check for updates.

Routes Affected by Delays

The signalling issue has impacted Chiltern Railways services connecting Stourbridge Junction, Birmingham, Banbury, Kings Sutton, Oxford, Aylesbury, Princes Risborough, High Wycombe, Gerrards Cross, West Ruislip, and London Marylebone. Travelers heading to these destinations are advised to consider using CrossCountry, Avanti West Coast, GWR, or LNWR services heading north. Passengers can utilize the same tickets for these alternative services, which depart from London Euston station.

Underground Services Unaffected

On a more positive note, all lines within the London Underground network are operating smoothly this morning.

Impact of the Signalling Issue

The earlier signalling fault at London Marylebone has led to major disruptions across the rail network. Although all lines have reopened, trains are currently required to operate at reduced speeds in the affected area. Delays of up to 30 minutes are expected, and some services may be revised or cancelled. Major disruptions are projected to last until 9:30 AM.
