Trains operating to and from London Euston are experiencing substantial disruptions due to a signalling issue, which is expected to persist throughout the day.

A fault in the signalling system between London Euston and Watford Junction has led to the reopening of lines; however, services between these two stations may still face cancellations, delays of up to 120 minutes, or alterations to facilitate recovery.

Services affected include those operated by Avanti West Coast, which connects London Euston with Birmingham New Street, Crewe, Chester, Holyhead, Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Piccadilly, Glasgow Central, and Edinburgh. Additionally, London Northwestern Railway services between London Euston and Tring, Milton Keynes Central, Birmingham New Street, and Crewe are also impacted.

Customer Guidance Amid Disruptions

In light of the ongoing disruptions, London Northwestern Railway has provided guidance for affected customers. Passengers can utilize their tickets at no additional cost on:

  • Avanti West Coast services on any reasonable route
  • Chiltern Railway services between London Marylebone and Birmingham Snow Hill
  • East Midlands Railway services between London St Pancras International and Wellingborough

In the event of a train cancellation, passengers are permitted to use their tickets on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately preceding or following their scheduled train. For those who choose not to travel due to delays or cancellations, a full refund can be requested from the point of purchase. Tickets dated for today, April 1, can also be used for travel tomorrow, April 2.

Additional Service Updates

As of the latest reports, minor delays are affecting Docklands Light Railway (DLR) services between Bank/Tower Gateway and Canning Town/Canary Wharf due to an earlier faulty train at Westferry, although all other routes are operating normally.

The Piccadilly line is currently running smoothly, while the IFS Cloud Cable Car is also providing a reliable service. However, there are minor delays reported on the Piccadilly line between Acton Town and Heathrow Terminals/Uxbridge due to an earlier signal failure at Acton Town, with the remainder of the line functioning well.

Severe delays are noted on the DLR between Bank/Tower Gateway and Canning Town/Canary Wharf as a result of the faulty train at Westferry, while all other routes are operating without issues. The Circle line is experiencing minor delays due to train cancellations.

Furthermore, the A101 may face short, intermittent closures in both directions at the Rotherhithe Tunnel, between the tunnel approach and the junction of Jamaica Road and Lower Road, aimed at alleviating congestion within the tunnel. Commuters are advised to plan ahead and anticipate potential delays.
