Passengers are advised to prepare for significant disruptions this weekend as three Tube lines will not serve all stations due to scheduled maintenance work. Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that the District, Metropolitan, and Piccadilly lines will experience partial closures on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12.

Holiday travelers heading to Heathrow Airport should note that the Piccadilly line will not operate beyond Hammersmith, necessitating the use of the Elizabeth line for those journeys. Additionally, the Uxbridge branch of the Piccadilly line will also be affected.

Details of Service Interruptions

In South London, passengers on the London Overground will face minor disruptions due to early morning maintenance work on the Windrush line. Maintenance will also occur on the Elizabeth line between Acton and West Ealing.

Specific Line Closures

  • District Line: No service from Turnham Green to Ealing Broadway on July 11-12 due to track work.
  • Piccadilly Line: No service from Hammersmith to Heathrow Airport and Uxbridge, including during the Night Tube on Friday and Saturday.
  • Metropolitan Line: No service from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Uxbridge on July 11-12.
  • Windrush Line: No service from Wandsworth Road to Clapham Junction until 9 AM on July 12 due to Network Rail maintenance.
  • DLR: No service from Tower Gateway to Shadwell on July 12 due to third-party works.
  • Elizabeth Line: Trains will not stop at Acton Main Line, Hanwell, and West Ealing after 11 PM on Saturday and until 9 AM on Sunday.

Additional Travel Advice

Travelers using London Euston station should also prepare for severe disruptions due to strike action by London Northwestern Railway (LNR). The strike, stemming from a pay dispute with the TSSA trade union, will result in reduced services on Friday and Saturday. Some routes will not operate at all, while others will be limited to one train per hour.

Routes Affected by LNR Strike

  • Birmingham to Liverpool: 1 train per hour
  • London Euston to Crewe: 1 train per hour
  • Birmingham to London Euston via Northampton: 1 train per hour
  • Milton Keynes to London Euston: 1 train per hour
  • Watford Junction to St Albans Abbey: 1 train per hour

No trains will run on other LNR routes, including services between Stafford and Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent and between Bedford and Bletchley. Some disruptions are also anticipated on Sunday, July 12, as services gradually return to normal.
