Travel disruptions are affecting South Western Railway services this morning due to a trespasser on the tracks between Teddington and Hampton Wick. As a result, all lines in this area are currently blocked, leading to significant delays and cancellations.

Passengers are advised to anticipate delays of up to 20 minutes, with the situation expected to persist until approximately 9 AM.

Current Service Updates

  • Piccadilly Line: Minor delays are reported between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge following an earlier fault.
  • Romford Traffic: Diversion routes via Ardleigh Green Road and Gubbins Lane are experiencing delays of about three to five minutes.
  • Metropolitan Line: A good service is currently in operation.
  • London Road and Waldram Park Road: Traffic is slow, with eastbound delays extending back to Waldenshaw Road and westbound queues reaching Stanstead Road.
  • A10 Traffic: Drivers should exercise caution as slow-moving traffic is reported near construction works.
  • A1 Holloway Road: Temporary traffic signals are in place due to emergency gas works, causing delays in both directions.
  • Eastbound Trains: Until June 7, eastbound trains will not stop at Barons Court. Passengers should take a westbound District or Piccadilly line train and change at Hammersmith.

Details on the Disruption

The trespasser incident has caused a ripple effect throughout the South Western Railway network, particularly impacting services between Twickenham, Shepperton, and Kingston. Passengers are being warned that they may face cancellations or revised schedules as the situation unfolds.

„Disruption is expected to last until around 9 AM,“ a spokesperson stated.

Additional Travel Information

In addition to the issues on the South Western Railway, the Piccadilly line has faced severe delays due to a points failure at Uxbridge, resulting in a suspension of service between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge. However, the rest of the line is operating normally, and tickets are being accepted on London Buses.

Minor delays continue on the Metropolitan line between Uxbridge and Harrow-on-the-Hill, also attributed to a points failure at Uxbridge. Despite these challenges, the majority of the line is functioning without significant issues.

Travelers are encouraged to stay informed about ongoing updates and to plan their journeys accordingly, as the situation remains fluid.
