John, a 69-year-old resident who has lived in Eltham for three decades, commented: „My wife and I were just looking for somewhere a bit bigger and moved here, as the houses are quite large. The shops have a very community-oriented feel, and we now have a boulangerie.“

Both long-time and new inhabitants express satisfaction with life in Eltham. One local, preferring anonymity, noted: „Usually it’s quite a nice area to live, and generally the people are very kind. Culturally, it’s diverse, which I believe adds to its charm.“ Another resident, Steven, 50, found daily life in Eltham to be straightforward and pleasant, stating: „I enjoy living here; the High Street is quite decent, and there are plenty of green spaces nearby.“
However, some locals have expressed concerns regarding a rise in shoplifting incidents. The unnamed resident remarked, „Some shops have had to implement stricter security measures, such as requiring customers to show receipts before leaving, indicating an increase in theft.”

Chris Welling, who moved to Eltham last year, noted the abundance of greenery and attractive architecture. He remarked, „Eltham is quite green and retains its elegance with historic buildings and landmarks. I would encourage people to visit.“ With historical sites such as Eltham Palace and Severndroog Castle, along with expansive woodlands in Oxleas Woods, the area successfully blends historical context with opportunities for outdoor relaxation. For potential buyers eager to secure a home, Eltham’s tranquil nature and sense of safety are proving increasingly difficult to overlook.
