Detectives are seeking information from the public following a tragic road incident in Enfield that resulted in a fatality.
Details of the Incident
Emergency services were alerted at 06:18 hours on Friday, February 6, regarding a collision involving a van and a pedestrian on Turkey Street, EN3.
Officers arrived at the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance. A 22-year-old male was treated on-site before being transported to a hospital.
Despite the extensive efforts of medical personnel, the individual unfortunately succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. His family has been notified and is receiving support from specialized officers within the Metropolitan Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit. This incident brings to mind other tragic cases, such as the arrest made in Gillingham crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian.
Investigation Status
The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Currently, no arrests have been made. Similar investigations have raised concerns, like the unexpected death of a woman in Croydon.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated, „Our thoughts are with those affected by this incident, and our investigation is still in progress. We are reviewing all available footage and are appealing to the public for any information that may assist our inquiries.“
