A deceased cat was discovered hanging from a dog lead on a garden fence in North London, prompting an investigation by the RSPCA. The incident occurred on January 20 in the garden of a residence located on Gospatrick Road in Tottenham.
The homeowner’s dog began barking at the fence around 2:30 PM, which led the owner to investigate. Upon checking, they found the cat’s body on the opposite side of the fence, facing a nearby alley. The RSPCA has identified the cat as a black-and-white male, who is not microchipped but appears to have been well cared for.
RSPCA Seeks Information
Inspector Jaqueline Schultz expressed disbelief at the cruelty of the act, stating, „It really beggars belief why someone would commit an act as cruel and sickening as this.“ She noted that there are no CCTV cameras in the vicinity and urged anyone with information to come forward. The RSPCA is also looking for witnesses who may have seen anything unusual or have Ring doorbell footage from the time of the incident or the previous day. To assist in locating the cat’s owner, ‚found‘ posters have been distributed throughout the area.

The cat is described as predominantly black, with distinctive white markings including white whiskers, a white left back foot, white front toes, and a white belly, throat, and chin. His left upper lip is white, while the right upper lip is black.
