A prisoner affiliated with South West London has escaped from HMP Springhill, prompting a warning from authorities. The 27-year-old vanished between Christmas and Boxing Day.
The individual, Mahad Elmi, left the men’s open prison situated near Grendon Underwood in Buckinghamshire, either overnight or during the early morning hours. Thames Valley Police have declared that Elmi no longer possesses any authorization or lawful license to be in the community, categorizing him as unlawfully at large.
Description of the Escapee
Elmi is described as a black male, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, with a medium build. He has medium-length black hair, a beard, and brown eyes.
Public Appeal for Information
Detective Sergeant Matthew French from the Priority Crime Team has stated, „We are appealing for the help of the public to trace Mahad Elmi, who is unlawfully at large after leaving and not returning to HMP Springhill.“
Authorities advise that if he is sighted, individuals should not attempt to approach him and should instead call 999. For any information regarding Elmi’s whereabouts, the public is encouraged to call 101 or submit a report online, referencing number 43250653119.
