The 43-year-old was admitted to a London hospital with severe head injuries on June 10, 2026, after police were alerted by hospital staff around 12:30 PM.
Initial investigations revealed that Wilding had been attacked inside a residence on Cadbury Way, SE16. Despite the medical team’s efforts, he succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
In the wake of this incident, law enforcement took swift action. On June 11, officers apprehended a 41-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Jay Hewetson, born on November 30, 1984, and residing on Abbey Street in Southwark, was formally charged with murder on June 12. He is scheduled to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on June 13.
