A suspect is set to appear in court facing charges of murder following a tragic house fire in Walthamstow that resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
Authorities received reports of the fire at a residential property on Forest Road, E17, at 22:24 hours on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Police officers responded promptly, working alongside the London Fire Brigade.
Inside the residence, the bodies of two men were discovered. They have been identified as 24-year-old Mohammed Djellal and 35-year-old Faouzi Bouchadoe. Their families are currently receiving support from specialized officers.
A murder investigation was initiated by detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command. On August 10, 2025, the Crown Prosecution Service approved murder charges against 25-year-old Fouad Boudra, born on March 24, 2001.
On August 27, 2025, a judge issued an international arrest warrant for Boudra. He was apprehended in France on January 26, 2026, and subsequently extradited to the United Kingdom on April 2, 2026.
Fouad Boudra, who has no fixed address, is scheduled to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on April 3, 2026. He faces multiple charges, including:
- Two counts of murder
- Two counts of manslaughter
- Causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a third individual
- Arson with intent to endanger life
