Tragic Outcome: Fatalities from South London House Inferno
Emergency crews responded to a fire incident in Bath Close, Peckham at 10pm on Monday evening.
According to the London Fire Brigade, control officers received 22 calls reporting the blaze. The incident resulted in damage to part of the second floor of a mid-terraced residence.
Three women received medical attention from the London Ambulance Service at the scene. A spokesperson for the fire service noted, “Two of them were taken to hospital, where one later died.”
Fire units from Peckham, New Cross, Greenwich, Brixton, and nearby stations managed to bring the fire under control around 11.15pm.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
