In a significant incident early Friday, January 2, a two-car crash in Croydon resulted in two men being admitted to the hospital and two individuals taken into police custody. The collision occurred around 3:20 a.m. on London Road in Thornton Heath.
Emergency services transported two men to the hospital with serious injuries, which, while serious, were neither life-threatening nor life-changing. One driver, a man in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and is currently detained at a police station. The second individual, a man in his 30s, was also arrested for traffic violations and is receiving treatment in the hospital.

The busy London Road, which connects several areas including Norbury and Thornton Heath, has been partially closed from Wharfedale Gardens to Headcorn Road for approximately seven hours. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated, „Police were called to a report of a two-car collision on London Road, Thornton Heath at around 3:20 a.m. on Friday, January 2. Two men were taken to hospital and suffered serious, but not life-changing or life-threatening injuries. A man in his 50s, the driver of one of the vehicles, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and remains in custody. Another man, aged in his 30s, was also arrested for traffic offences and remains in hospital. Enquiries are ongoing.
