The British Transport Police (BTP) have initiated an investigation following a distressing incident in which a woman was sexually assaulted at a Tube station in West London. The attack occurred on Sunday, June 21, at approximately 2:30 PM, as the assailant confronted the victim in the subway leading to Hanger Lane station in Ealing.

During the assault, the perpetrator forcibly restrained the woman, preventing her from escaping. After the incident, he fled into the Central line station while laughing, and authorities have yet to locate him. In an effort to identify the suspect, the BTP has released CCTV footage of a man they wish to question regarding the case.

„Detectives believe he may have information that could assist their ongoing investigation,“ the BTP stated.

The individual in the footage is described as being of Indian or South Asian descent, in his mid-to-late 20s, standing approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a light-blue shirt, light-colored trousers, and sunglasses.

Related Incidents and Appeals for Information

In a separate but related incident, the BTP is also seeking information about a man who allegedly took photos up a woman’s skirt on the Northern line in South London. This incident occurred around 3:20 PM on Saturday, June 20, while the train was traveling through the Clapham Common area.

Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the man in the CCTV footage to come forward. Individuals can reach the BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, referencing case number 491 of June 22. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
