A man from Finchley, North London, has been convicted of four additional sexual offenses following a thorough investigation by Metropolitan Police detectives.
Ross Davidson, 37, residing on Station Road in Finchley, was found guilty on Wednesday, January 28, at Wood Green Crown Court. He had previously pleaded guilty to one count of voyeurism at the start of the trial. After a 10-day trial, the jury convicted him of one count of sexual assault, one count of attempted rape, and one count of rape, all involving two victims. What are the allegations against former Spandau Ballet singer Ross Davidson?
Previous Convictions and Investigation Details
Davidson had been convicted in July 2024 of one count of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of voyeurism, which involved four different victims. The investigation into his actions began in 2019 when he was arrested at his residence. Following his arrest, authorities seized his digital devices, which revealed numerous videos of Davidson committing acts of rape and sexual assault against victims.
Detective Constable Kamila Kedadrova, a member of the investigative team, stated, „Davidson is a prolific offender who carried out cowardly and opportunistic assaults against his victims. Our dedicated team of officers have worked with determination and care to secure the evidence which has proved essential in achieving today’s result. I also commend the victims for their courage and support for the investigation.“
Additional Victims and Charges
On July 24, 2022, Davidson was charged with 17 sexual offenses and was remanded in custody. Following media coverage of these charges, another victim came forward, reporting a rape that occurred in March 2015 while she was staying with him in London. He was charged with this offense on April 24, 2023.
Investigators also reviewed the videos found on his devices, which included footage of a sexual assault filmed without the victim’s consent. Detectives managed to identify the woman in the video, and after contacting her, she reported additional offenses. It was revealed that Davidson, who was in Thailand during the 2019 incidents, had attempted to rape a second victim, who had woken up during the assault and confronted him, prompting him to cease his actions.
On July 6, 2024, he faced further charges of attempted rape, sexual assault, and voyeurism. Davidson is scheduled to be sentenced at a later date, which will encompass these new convictions along with his prior guilty verdicts.
