1 Fatal Collision in Willesden: Man Charged with Dangerous Driving

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal collision in Willesden on Wednesday, 3 December.

Police were notified about the incident on Chapel Close, Willesden at 12:44hrs after receiving reports of a collision involving a car and pedestrians.

Officers arrived at the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, where a man in his 30s was tragically pronounced dead. He has been identified as Ruben Nunes, 34, from Peterborough. His family has been informed and is currently receiving support from specialized officers.

Investigation and Arrests

A police investigation was initiated, leading to the arrest of a man on Thursday, 4 December, in connection with the event. Shakaine Dwyer, 29 (born 29.07.1996) of Willesden, was charged on Sunday, 7 December with causing death by dangerous driving. He is scheduled to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 8 December.

Additionally, a 32-year-old man was detained on Thursday, 4 December, on suspicion of assisting an offender. He remains on bail as investigations proceed.

Detectives are continuing to seek witnesses, urging anyone who has information, as well as dashcam or mobile phone footage from the time surrounding the collision, to come forward.
