Officers investigating a deadly stabbing in Brent have taken a man into custody on suspicion of murder.
The murder inquiry commenced on Wednesday, February 11, after police received reports of a stabbing at approximately 18:05 hours on Manor Park Road. Responding officers, along with the London Ambulance Service, discovered a 33-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. Despite the paramedics‘ efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as Mohamed Malki, and his family has been informed and is receiving support from specialized officers.
Investigation Progress and Arrest
The murder investigation has been ongoing, and on Sunday, February 15, detectives apprehended a 36-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He has been released on bail and is scheduled to return in mid-March. This case has drawn attention similar to the murder of a woman in Willesden, highlighting the community’s concerns.
Detective Inspector Barry Hart, who is overseeing the investigation, stated, „Since Mohamed’s death, detectives have been diligently working to gather information in the local area to piece together the events of that night.“ He urged anyone with information regarding Mohamed’s death to reach out to the authorities and assist in the investigation, especially considering the impact on the community following the murder charge in Lambeth.
