More than 500 mobile phones, believed to be stolen, were confiscated by the Metropolitan Police during a significant operation at a retail establishment in north-west London.
Authorities arrested four individuals, aged 22, 25, 34, and 63, on charges related to the handling of stolen property, as well as possession of drugs with intent to distribute. This action took place at a shop located on Kilburn High Road, according to police reports.
Footage released by the Metropolitan Police depicted officers navigating through aisles filled with merchandise before reaching a secured area. They proceeded to break a padlock on a door, revealing shelves densely packed with mobile phones and some packaging for iPhones.
The operation was executed under a warrant obtained after intelligence indicated that the location was being utilized for the distribution of class B narcotics.
Following the raid, three of the suspects were granted bail, while one was released pending further investigation.
Inspector Yu Zhang stated, „We recognize that mobile phone theft continues to be a significant issue for residents of London, which is why we have made concerted efforts to reduce such crimes. Seizures like this demonstrate our commitment to not only apprehending individual thieves but also targeting those who facilitate and profit from stolen devices.“
