Four individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the murder of a man following a stabbing incident in South London.

The Metropolitan Police received a call at 03:54 hours on Monday, April 6, regarding a disturbance involving a group outside a nightclub located on Ruby Street.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service discovered a 26-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite the prompt response from emergency services, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have notified his next of kin, who are currently receiving support from specialized officers.

In addition to the deceased, two other men in their twenties were found injured at the location. Both individuals are currently hospitalized and are reported to be in critical condition.

On the same day, four men—one aged 18 and three aged 24—were arrested on suspicion of murder. They are presently being held in custody. This incident has drawn attention, especially in light of recent events, including the case of a 13-year-old boy arrested over a viral trend that has been causing concern across the UK.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who is overseeing the investigation, stated, „This is a deeply tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time. We have already arrested four men and our investigation continues at pace.“

He further noted, „We are aware of the concern that this will cause the local community, and those in the area will notice an increased police presence throughout the day. This assault occurred outside a busy nightclub, and we’d encourage anyone who has any information, dashcam, or mobile phone footage which could support the investigation to contact us.“

Individuals with information or relevant footage are urged to reach out to the police by calling 101 and quoting CAD 1033/6APR, or they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
