The family of a 43-year-old man who died from serious head injuries is receiving support as authorities launch a murder investigation in Bermondsey. The incident has left the community in shock, prompting calls for information from local residents.
Police were alerted by hospital staff around 12:30 PM on Wednesday, June 10, after the man was admitted with critical injuries. Initial investigations revealed that he had been assaulted inside a residence on Cadbury Way, SE16. Despite the medical team’s efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
In response to the incident, a murder investigation has commenced, with officers actively patrolling the area to gather further evidence. As of now, no arrests have been made.
Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, who oversees policing for Central South Command, stated, „Our enquiries are continuing at pace, with our thoughts remaining with the victim’s family. We believe this to be an isolated incident within a residential address, and our officers will remain in the area throughout today.“
