Detectives investigating the murder of a young man in Croydon are once again reaching out to the public for information, as they strive to secure justice for his family two years following his tragic death.
Rijkaard Siafa, aged 23, was fatally injured in Fellmongers Yard, Croydon, on Friday, April 12, 2024, after authorities responded to reports of a stabbing incident.
Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police, the London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance, arrived at the scene. Despite their prompt response and attempts by bystanders to administer first aid, Rijkaard succumbed to his injuries approximately 30 minutes later.
While two individuals have already been convicted in connection with Rijkaard’s murder, police are still searching for Jordan Vincent, 29, who is believed to be from south London. Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist in locating him or lead to his arrest to come forward.
“Two years on from this horrific murder, our thoughts remain with Rijkaard’s family and friends,” said Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend, who is overseeing the investigation. “Rijkaard lost his life at a young age due to the actions of David Walcott and Rammon Mali, two dangerous and unpredictable individuals who have now been put behind bars.”
Detective Townsend expressed gratitude to those who have already provided information, noting that evidence gathered indicates the defendants acted in concert to locate and violently assault Rijkaard.
“We are renewing our appeal to the public for their help in finding the outstanding suspect, Vincent, wanted for Rijkaard’s murder. Any information could help us trace his whereabouts,” she added. “My team will continue to work tirelessly to bring all those responsible to justice. We are determined to do so and appeal for those who could help to come forward.”
Rijkaard’s mother, Hassanatu Bah, shared her ongoing grief, stating:
“Rijkaard was deeply loved and is missed every day. Even after two years, the pain has not changed. We are grateful for the police support throughout. We are asking anyone with information to please come forward. No family should have to go through this. We just want answers and justice for Rijkaard.”
On April 17, 2025, at the Old Bailey, David Walcott, then 35 years old, of Turle Road, Norbury, and Rammon Mali, then 33, of Valley Road, Croydon, were each sentenced to 27 years in prison for their roles in Rijkaard’s murder.
Following a five-week trial, they were convicted on February 26, 2025. Both defendants claimed they were present during the incident but denied committing the murder. However, the jury unanimously found them guilty.
