Three individuals have been taken into custody following the fatal shooting of a man in Woolwich.
The Metropolitan Police reported that emergency services responded to a shooting incident on Lord Warwick Street around 15:40 BST on Thursday. Despite the prompt arrival of paramedics, the victim was declared dead at the scene.
The authorities have notified the victim’s next-of-kin and stated that they are receiving support from specialized officers. A murder investigation is currently underway.
The suspects remain in police custody as the investigation progresses.
Detective Chief Inspector Lucie Card, who is overseeing the investigation, has urged anyone who was in the vicinity during the incident, or who possesses CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward with any information.
„Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and loved ones,“ she stated. „We understand the concern this incident may cause within the local community. We have already made three arrests, and our investigation continues. In light of recent events, it’s important to be aware of trends affecting youth, such as the viral school wars that have emerged.“
