The identity of a woman discovered deceased near railway tracks has prompted a call for public assistance, as authorities believe someone may hold crucial information.
On March 18, 2025, the body of an unidentified female was located at Coppermill Junction, adjacent to Walthamstow Reservoirs. An inquest into her death was convened by Graeme Irvine, Senior Coroner for East London, on July 29.
„There has been an ongoing investigation to try to identify the deceased by attempting to use DNA analysis, fingerprints and forensic odontology,“ said Mr. Irvine. „However, we have not been able to identify the deceased. In the hope that somebody is aware of the opening of this inquest, we would be very grateful if any member of the public could come forward to help identify this woman. It seems to me that somebody must know who she is.“
The coroner noted that the woman had likely died recently, as rigor mortis had not fully set in. A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death remains unascertained due to catastrophic injuries.

Emergency services provided a description of the woman, who is believed to be a white female in her mid-50s. She had dark, straight hair and was found wearing a Sherpa-style jacket layered over a khaki bomber jacket and black jogging bottoms. Notably, she had a white metal ring with a black motif, possibly depicting a dolphin, on her left middle finger.
