A man who suffered fatal injuries in a shooting incident in north-west London has been identified as Simon Whyte by the Metropolitan Police.
Authorities responded to reports of the shooting on West End Close, located in Stonebridge, Brent, at 21:35 GMT on Friday. Despite the immediate assistance provided by police and the London Ambulance Service, the 55-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Underway
A murder investigation has commenced, yet no arrests have been made, as confirmed by the Metropolitan Police.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John stated, „Our thoughts are with Simon’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. Inquiries are well under way, and my team is working at pace to determine the circumstances that led to his tragic death.“
Appeal for Information
Detective Chief Inspector John further noted that police presence has been increased in the vicinity and urged anyone with information to reach out to the police via 101 or to report anonymously through Crimestoppers.
„We also believe there was a large group of people congregated nearby at the time the incident happened, and we are keen to hear from them,“ he added.
